Mandi’s quest to understand Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) began in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when her then 14-year-old son’s ADHD symptoms amplified and she was left desparate for answers. She dove head-first into research so she could understand her child’s brain difference. Then, in 2024, she left her 28-year career as a development professional to pursue her coaching certification, specializing in ADHD coaching.

In addition to her son’s challenges with executive function, Mandi noticed a lack of understanding and a lot of misinformation about ADHD in the workplace. She had colleagues with ADHD who were frightened to disclose their disagnosis, and others who were placed on performance improvement plans (PIP), because leaders and managers did not understand the condition. She became a de facto coach in her work space to help her co-workers sustain employment. Her work experiences opened her eyes to a void within corporations and organizations. She learned that most business leaders, managers, and human resource professionals do not have a basic understanding of ADHD.

Mandi founded Beyond Scatter, LLC as a passion project with a mission to greatly enhance and improve the academic and professional lives of those with ADHD. She believes that no one should suffer feelings of shame, rejection, and failure because our neuro-typical world is not designed neuro-diverse brain works. At Beyond Scatter, Mandi partners with students and parents to break down the basics of how the frontal lobe of the brain, executive functioning skills, and the neurotransmitter system play a role in the daily struggles associated with ADHD. Using accredited coaching techniques, and her ADHD coaching tools, Mandi meets her clients where they are in their journey with neurodiversity and together they develop systems and strategies to better navigate our neurotypical world.

Mandi’s educational background includes a BA from DePauw University, MA in communication theory from Ohio University, ADHD coaching certification from The Executive Function Coaching Academy, and her coaching certification from Coach Training EDU. She also is pursuing her International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification https://coachingfederation.org.

Personally, Mandi is married to her husband of 26 years, and they are the proud parents to two 20-something-sons who continue to keep them on their toes. When she is not coaching or facilitating groups, Mandi enjoys reading historic fiction novels, cycling, traveling, hiking with her two dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
